For this piece, I explored six letters from seven different typefaces and acknowledged their specific visual elements. I took these elements and created an asymmetrical composition that highlights hierarchy and the relationship between figure and ground.
I was inspired by ocean waves when I was creating my composition. I wanted my piece to somewhat reflect that.
The images below show part of my progress leading up to the final result. This includes attributing characteristics to each typeface and zooming in on multiple features of the letters, while showing a figure/ground relationship.
